At Inner City Outreach, we believe every young person in the Jane and Finch community deserves a place to belong, grow, and thrive. Beyond simply delivering programs, we are cultivating the next generation of leaders through a holistic model that nurtures the emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical well-being of every youth
Serving as a vital Community Hub, we offer a sanctuary where youth feel safe, deeply supported, and consistently challenged to reach their highest potential. From the court to the classroom, our initiatives—including basketball leagues, after-school academic support, and intentional leadership training—are designed to build character and resilience.
Recognizing that true leadership starts from within, we integrate mental health and wellness into the core of our mission. By providing the emotional tools and safe spaces needed to navigate life’s challenges, we ensure our youth are not only supported today but empowered to lead the change our future needs.
At ICO, we provide more than just activities—we provide a path to purpose.

Leadership Program
We see the students in our program as future leaders and we invest time in building and encouraging them to raise up to this challenge. We do this through mentorship programs as well as offering our youth employment and honorariums opportunities during our summer camp season or throughout the year at our after-school programs. For some, this is their first paid work experience which empowers them for future job opportunities. For others, it is an opportunity to practice money management, and hopefully financial savings too.

Basketball Program
Revolutions Basketball is where passion for the game meets real-world growth. We bridge the gap between athletic drive and personal development, using every play to teach critical life skills like discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. In a high-energy, safe environment, our youth build bonds with their peers and receive intentional mentorship from coaches invested in their success—both in the game and in life.

Mental Health Program
AnchorPoint provides accessible mental health workshops, high school programming, and counselling connections for youth and families. From safe spaces to reset and grow to professional support pathways, we are here to ensure no one walks through challenges alone.

Vocational Mentorship Program
Launched in early 2025 with the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) and York University, ICO’s Vocational Mentorship Program is a pilot initiative designed to expand our mentoring efforts by focusing on career and educational guidance for youth aged 14–25 in Jane & Finch and the broader Black Creek community.
A spin-off of our Leadership Program, this initiative connects 20 youth with older adult mentors from diverse professional backgrounds—prioritizing those whose lived experiences reflect those of our participants. These one-on-one relationships are strengthened by regular engagement with professionals like school counsellors and employment coaches, along with wraparound support such as TTC fare and meals. Already, we’ve seen mentees and mentors develop meaningful rapport, exchanging laughter, insight, and encouragement while exploring life and career paths.
OTF’s Seed Grant has also allowed us to train mentors, deliver impactful content, and provide a consistent and empowering space for youth to learn and grow. We’re proud of the strong start and truly grateful for OTF’s belief in our mission and its role in helping youth unlock their potential.
